Back to School

Back to school, Back to reality...
Baylee's first day of 10th grade. (all this highschool talk and I'm sending a child off)

Griffin's first day of 8th grade.

Am I a bad mom/sister for letting my kids go to the Jack Johnson concert the first night of school?? Baylee loves Jack Johnson and was looking forward to his concert all year. It just happened to fall on the same night that school started. I didn't have the heart to tell her no. Thanks to my brother, Trevor, for taking them. I'm not ready for reality. We had such a fun summer and it went by so quickly!! What if I send them to school 2 weeks late? j/k. Routine is good and it will be nice to be on a routine again and go to bed before midnight.

Still recovering...

It was a crazy last week of summer. My friend, Janet, was in town from Las Vegas with her 3 boys. She is currently in between houses while they are waiting for their new home to close soo it was perfect timing for her to come to Utah, especially because we had our 10 year highschool reunion over the weekend.

Kids played all week and so did we. I don't know what we were thinking by staying up until 2 am every morning. We seriously can't help ourselves. I can handle 1 night maybe but 5?? This mommy needs her sleep!

Making posters for the reunion. Go WJ! Wait, are we in highschool again?? It was fun to reminice about the good old student government days. Thanks for coming up Steph and Val. I'm so glad I didn't have to plan it. Bless your hearts, Rae and Val, you guys did awesome!!

At the reunion. This was the only picture I got. It ended up being a hectic night for me and I had to leave early. I'm sorry I didn't get to catch up with more people. Everything was so nice.

My favorite part of the weekend though was having a sleepover with these girls. You can never be too old for sleepovers with your girlfriends. Thanks to our husbands and Azy's fiance for understanding our need for girls time.

10 years later and still staying up until 5 am talking. We are just more mature, right??

Breakfast in the morning and back to responsibility. My four girlfriends (JANET, FRANCINE, HILLARY, and AZY) have each played a huge role in my life during my school years and after. I'm so grateful for each of their friendships and that they have lasted this long. Love you all and look forward to 10 more years!!

Classic FUN Center

The other day we headed to Classis FUN Center for some FUN in the sun.

My kids LOVED this little slide.

We LOVED this BIG blow up slide. Here are some funny pictures of us in action...

I know, embarrassing. Look at how scared I look compared to Avaree. Children have no fear.

Tired, but we still had to use our bounce passes.

Weston's favorite things to do are jump, throw a ball or anything he has his hands on, and throw a fit.

Loving our last days of Summer.

No Cavities

That is a record for us.

Avaree was a little hesitant to open but once she did, she did awesome. I was so proud of her. Weston on the other hand was another story but he's still young. I am trying to be faithful about going to the dentist because I wasn't as a child and I've had a LOT of teeth issues from it (and a lot of cost). So far so good for Baylee, Griffin, Avaree and Weston. Hopefully my kids got Jason's teeth. Jason's Dad goes to the dentist every twenty years and doesn't have any cavities. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Suncrest Market is Closing

Our local market is closing and my life is changing! We live on top of a mountain. It is beautiful and one of my FAVORITE things about our community is the local market that sells everything you'd ever need. I did my dry cleaning there, rented movies, got my balloons, wrapping paper... you name it they offered it. They have a deli with delicious baked goods. Their bread and brownies are my favorite! It was so convienient. I could get in and out fast without having to drive down the mountain, which made my life a lot easier. The owners are so nice. It gave our community a small town feel even though we live in a big city. I don't know what I am going to do without it. I am SO SAD.

Jason with one of the owners, Jake. Jason is really going to be affected. He ate lunch there everyday and his snack breaks at least once a day. He is going to starve.

Everything in the store is discounted so we stocked up.

Even the front of our car was full.

I am excited that I FINALLY have some food storage but my heart is broken. It will be a major change of lifestyle.

Gibbons

My cousin and her SIX kids stayed with us this weekend.
Lana has the personality, patience, and humor to raise SIX kids under 11. She is hilarious. We always have a good time when she is around.

Thanks for coming Gibbons. You are ALWAYS welcome. We Love you!

Annual PC Trip

This is the 3rd year we've gone to Park City for a little trip before school starts. I love Park City. There is just something about being there. It's a good vacation not far from home. Here is some of the fun stuff we were able to do...

Enjoy the view from our room

The alpine slide

Weston thought he would like this plane ride...

but not when it started moving.

Stroll down Main Street... it was the Arts Festival this past weekend.

Family dinner out.

Can't forget dessert.

Swimming!

Kids played on the playground...

while I took turns school shopping at the outlets with Baylee and Griffin.

Now we are almost ready for school to start again. Except I'm not emotionally ready. I love having Baylee and Griffin home to play with and help me. Once school starts it's back to schedules and the weather starts getting colder. I'm just not ready for that yet. Summer goes by way too fast!
