Thanksgiving 2009

One evening, Avaree came into my room and said, "Mom, look at my papoose!" I didn't even know she knew what a papoose was. Obviously she had been learning about them in school but I still can't get over how cute and creative her indian baby is and how quickly she did it. I love the black electrical tape for her hair and the brown paper bag for her face. It's so clever, I had to take a picture.

Baylee made this cute turkey with Avaree on Thanksgiving morning. I had a hard time throwing it away but after Weston took it apart 3 times. It was time to say good bye.

It was Franklin's first Thanksgiving

and he got lots of loves!

We had a yummy dinner at Jason's Mom's house,

took naps,

played games with family and friends,

and were all highly entertained by Avaree as always!

I'm so thankful for my family!!
(including Weston who was m.i.a.)
We hope your turkey day was as great as ours!

thankul

where did november go?
i love thanksgiving!
it is one of my favorite holidays.
i have so much to be thankful for.
this year i am especially thankful for...

my body and the oppurtunity to give birth and nurse,
a healthy, beautiful baby,
2 smart toddlers,
surviving the crazy economy,
a hard working, handsome husband,
good teenagers,
dr. pepper,
music,
friends to lean on,
my heritage (i was raised by the best),
my testimony of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints,
and PRAYER.

avaree karol photography

i was just going through my pictures and since we haven't been up to much i came across a lot of pictures taken by avaree. i figured she deserved a post.

she did this little photo shoot of frankie a while back and i'm so glad she did because babies change so quickly at first. these were taken back when frankie still had hair. :)

i don't know what she did there.

this picture cracks me up.

love those toes.

she is always asking if she can "babysit" franklin. she loves to surround him with toys, read to him and sing to him, and no one can make him giggle like she can!

proof of the peanut pumpkin and the other pumpkin was painted by weston.

weston is OBSESSED with bobcats. it will be a sad day when all the construction in our area comes to an end. he can spend hours on end watching the guys next door work. he knows when the bobcats turn on and runs to the window. he can imitate the sound perfectly. he has a green toy bobcat that goes with us everywhere. when i came across his big boy bedding i had to get it! i have been in the process of updating the kids rooms in my spare time (pictures coming soon).
lesson learned... let avaree use my camera more often... maybe.

work, work & more work

yes, yes i'm alive.
i need to be thankful for all of jason's work.
i am thankful.
he's just been working non stop-
to have him home by 8 pm is early and rare.
10 pm is normal, midnight is too.
saturday is a work day.
taking care of kids all day on your own is hard work!
i'm tired and so is jason.
that is where i have been-
trying to stay sane and keep up on my so called life.

here are a few random pictures of his work...

one project was a foreclosed home out in herriman that we picked up for cheap and finished. this is a picture of the kitchen. it was a 5200 sq ft home that we sold for $433,000. it was a steal and only on the market for a few weeks.

another HUGE job was a remodel in deer valley for the CEO of D.R. Horton (yes, CEO of the nations top homebuilder). it is a vacation home for him and it became MY full time job to answer MY door for fed ex and ups packages that were sent for the job. we filled this trailer full. most of these packages were sent seperately and there were a lot of small packages back in there!

i wish i had before pictures of the deer valley home. they changed EVERYTHING. this picture was in the finishing stage. the kids and i did stay in park city for a couple of nights so that we could see jason. we still didn't seem him really but at least we got to go to the job site and meet him for a couple of meals.

this is bill mcbride or as avaree calls him, "billy bob". he is one of our loyal, hard working, favorite employees :)

jason in action (in the right corner)

more projects he has been working on...

finishing basements and putting in yards,
doing a build out for an office complex,
running a realty and mortgage office and
the biggest news of all is starting a development in herriman!!
it is called ivie farms.
we have 38 lots- 3/8 to 1/2 acre
floor plans ranging from $280,000 to $420,000, 3400 to 5200 square feet.
we started digging for the model last week.
this picture was taken on one of the lots...

let me know if you are in the market for a new home or know someone who is!

i hope jason will be able to manage his time a little better because i don't see the work load slowing down.
i am thankful for his hard work.
i pray for his health and success.
i truly enjoy and cherish our family time!

huge crab fest with fam

more decor by avaree. she made these darling ghosts all on her own with toilet paper, a brown marker and black electrical tape!

at least i have a couple of weeks to recoup before the thanksgiving and christmas festivities start!

Halloween 2009

jason and i were party poopers this year.
we didn't dress up and skipped out on the parties.
jason has been working A LOT & we were honestly too tired to party.
(besides we have been partying with all the birthdays!)
we did take the kids trick or treating twice...
once at uncle jeff's work on friday and then 4 wheelin style through our neighborhood on saturday.
the kids loved it!
here are some pics of our halloween
